A newly married officer in the Indian Army and his wife were on their way to Uttar Pradesh's famous valley of flowers and had obtained special permission to spend a week in an army officers' transit mess.

After a couple of days of getting the same dishes at every meal, the wife comlained to the chief steward about the lack o variety in food.

"Madam, in a transit officers' mess, it is the officer who change," reled the Chief Steward, "not the menu"
